Safe, reliable and cost effective operation of a modern fleet is the main objective of today’s ship owners, operators and managers. With ever increasing levels of automation on board it is critical that these systems are continuously available, reliable and when failures do occur they are rectified as quickly as possible. In order to achieve this, easy access to round the clock responsive, expert service is essential.

A 274m, 159,000Te Suezmax Tanker suffered a complete loss of its ACONIS 2000 Advanced Control & Integration System, removing it from service. MJR immediately mobilized a service engineer with spare parts from stock to the vessel and within a few hours of boarding had restored the system to full operation, allowing the vessel to go back ‘on hire’.
Emergency response, no prior knowledge of the system, no software backup available to us and very few details on the nature of the failure.
